About
I'm a PhD student in Information Sciences at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. I use natural language processing, machine learning, and interpretability techniques to study literature, translation, and language at scale. I'm interested in understanding how language models are shaped by their training and how this manifests in semantic shifts on complex, creative, and often cross-lingual tasks.
I received my MFA from the University of Iowa's Translation Workshop. At Illinois, I'm advised by Professor Ted Underwood and Professor J. Stephen Downie.
In my down time, I enjoy bouldering, reading, Scrabble, and films.
